- Drinking water is available at points along the Riva so no need to buy water.
- Eating and drinking is expensive in the Old Town. For light snacks, many small supermarkets such as Kosta sell coffee, pastries and cold beer. You can purchase them and bring them to the beach or a promenade bench to enjoy.
- City buses are free.
- The city is very clean with hardly any litter around. Help keep it that way.
- As of Jan 01 2023, Croatia changed to the Euro but the Kuna is mentioned throughout. The exchange rate was about 1 Kuna = 0.13 Euro
